This is a story about a 16-year-old Polish boy named Austin who
is in love with his girlfriend Shann but seems to be confused about his sexuality
because he has feelings for his best friend Robby as well. Austin lives in Iowa
and spends time with Robby smoking and skateboarding. But there is a problem, as
the story unfolds Austin and his friend Robby free a strand of fungi that turns
people into giant praying mantises that are about to bring the end of the world.
A very different and unique book that with every detail holds
a meaning with a purpose. This is a book that deserves to be understood in
greater detail. Recommended for grades 9-12. Other books by Andrew Smith
